The Diploma in Accounting (DIA) offers students the flexibility and opportunity to embark on a professional accounting route by taking the CAT examinations concurrently on their own. DIA is designed to equip students with all the necessary technical skills and knowledge that are required to fulfill an accounting role at the technician level. It is also structured to provide a sound knowledge that is required of a professional accounting executive.
DIA covers a wide range of key accounting and finance areas such as how to interpret financial statements, plan, manage and measure performance using budgets and other financial techniques, make financial decisions and manage all kinds of financial risks.
The DIA is an ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) accredited programme. Therefore, graduates of the DIA will be exempted from three ACCA papers (F1, F2, and F3).
Graduates of the DIA are also granted credit awards by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for its Associate of Chartered Accountant’s (ACA) syllabus. Graduates of the DIA will be exempted from six ICAEW papers (Accounting, Assurance, Business and Finance, Law, Management Information, and Principles of Taxation) upon achieving the minimum passing mark of 50% for specific courses in the DIA.
